I'm a complete beginner to guppy breeding, I found this site because, well, I have to make things difficult for myself or I'm not happy, and was looking up green guppies because (of course) I decided that's the color I want to try to go for. I'm probably going to be a more casual breeder than most people here, especially since I don't have room for a messload of tanks.
What I do have are two tanks containing all the fry I've gotten from one female I had (and died) that had a greenish tint to her tail. The fry are 6 months old now and had been separated early on by sex. So far I've been amazed to find out that not a single one of the males has green on them (their tails are beautiful, but seem to be in two groupings, yellow with black spots, and bright honkin' orange with black splotches, calico-like). Their bodies are silvery but every now and again I see a green/blue irridescence which is really nice. All the females have green tinted tails, go figure. So everyone will get to see my bumbling efforts in this hobby, and I've probably described absolutely worthless fish.
One direct question: What is the best way to take a photograph of a fish? I'd like to get some pics of my fish, but the colors always wind up horribly washed out compared to their real coloration.
